FZ-30 a selection of some interesting photos mostly taken from Deer Hill & Marsden in the last day or two with this relic of a camera, on a moderately clear day it is possible to see 50+ miles across West, North & South Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire from this location, which was until recently 'out of bounds'. Muddy Brook on the ascent is rather treacherous in places, as is Deer Hill Moss, so if you decide to make this journey, stay on the path, trust me, I know! I was able to see Ferrybridge Power Station beyond Castle Hill, 40 or so miles & Blackmoorfoot looks like you can just step onto it. Not quite as high as West Nab/Wessenden it is somewhat higher than Castle Hill, Extraordinary prospects over 270 degrees if you can be a*sed to climb to the boggy summit. Geography/Geology Local Wildlife Sites (LWSs) & Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), some of which are of international importance, are the most important places for wildlife in the county. They have substantive nature conservation value and their continued presence makes a significant contribution to maintenance of biodiversity.
